Ascenith is the daughter of Michael and Asnath (Ascenith) Unknown Pruitt. The Prewitt/Pruitt family can be found in Hall County, Georgia, before moving to Alabama.

Ascenith Pruitt married John Wade Owen in December of 1842 in Randolph County, Alabama. They moved to Henderson County, TX in early in 1850's, then to Navarro County where some of their children were. Among others; their grandson, Etheldred Harris Ingram and several great grand children are buried at Cryer Creek Cemetery.d/o: Michael Prewitt & Asenath (maiden name unknown).

Married Rev. John Wade Owen on 7 Dec. 1842 in Randolph Co., Alabama.

Ascenith was about 2 years of age when she and her family moved from Hall Co., Georgia. In 1851, Ascenith, John, and their, left Alabama and headed for California, traveling in a wagon caravan with several other families, but changed their plans and stayed in Texas after seeing it. They settled in Henderson Co., Texas, near the town of Athens.
